I am a freelance writer and editor whose 17 years of experience includes writing on a wide variety of subjects for the Web, magazines, newspapers and books. I spoke at two writing conferences and taught ESL in South Korea for two years.
I am accepting new clients for writing and editing jobs. My references are excellent. I’m deadline-0riented and honest. You’ll never have to check a fact. If you would like a copy of my resume or samples of my published work, please don’t hesitate to write to me by clicking here.
I am a true Renaissance woman with many interests. I’m fortunate enough to have a diverse and wonderful education.
I love so many things besides writing: traveling, gardening, fishing, reading, swimming, walking, children, my family, and of course, my two darling calico kitties.
My missions in life are:
1. Help the homeless;
2. Help others through my words and deeds;
3. Live my life according to the best of my abilities and God’s plan.
I’m working on my first book. It’s called, “Dancing on the River of My Tears,” and it’s about some of the many crises I’ve been through and how God was with me all the way, even when I didn’t realize it at the time. If you’d like to see a sample chapter, please write me.
Thanks so much for stopping by. I hope you have a blessed day.
At this moment, I can’t imagine a better book title. Can’t wait to read it! “Dancing on the River of My Tears”. Extraodinary!
Thank you for stopping by my blog! I love the title of your book. Wow!
Thanks for returning the favor. I guess I’d better get busy and finish the book, huh? Watch my blog for announcements about it!
Thanks for liking my blog…”Today’s Contemplation”. I also am trying to follow God’s plan to the best of my ability…which I think is all that’s required. Have you ever read Thomas Merton? Do an internet search of “the Merton Prayer” and you will find one of his famous prayers which I think states it quite well. Peace and blessings in your journey!
This to register my appreciation for your stopping by on my blog. I am sure you will visit it more often now that it will soon be a very active one. I am also going through posts and will be commenting on them as appropriate
First time visitor and I already feel like home! You pretty much are living the life I want! Writing for a living. Living in Korea. Helping those in need. Everything in my list! I know writing is hard, and writing a book is harder. Wish you luck in your book! FIGHTING! ^-^
Thanks so much. I miss living in Korea, but am settled in South Carolina for the time being. Did you know that if you have ANY bachelor’s degree, you can go teach in S. Korea? They pay airfare and the rent on an apartment for you. Contact me privately if you’d like more information. elliemk at gmail dot com.
Thanks! I sure will!
Thanks for visiting my blog. Glad you liked it!
You’re quite welcome. I hope you enjoyed mine as well.
I enjoyed reading your “About Ellie” page. We seem to have a lot in common, including a love for cats. Have you noticed that most writers have cats? Or is it just my imagination? Two of my cats like to “help out” when I’m typing. That accounts for a few of the typos. I love the name of your book and the title of your blog. Good choices!
Hi Sheryl, Thanks so much for stopping by my blog. I’m glad you enjoyed it, and yes, we do have cats and writing in common! I adore my rescue kitties. They are both calico cats.
Mine are rescues too. Three feral cats and one stray. They make life interesting–and often chaotic. They are territorial if you get my gist.
Thanks for the ‘like’ on my post, Wistful Thoughts and Promised Dreams.
I appreciate the opportunity to visit your very inspiring blog.
Best of luck on your book.
Peace.
I have similar goals for myself, helping and inspiring others is a big one.
All the best for your writing – and Merry Christmas. We are helping the homeless in our city with a food program.This guy is on our team… http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oO9-66SUTFU&feature=share&list=UU115X3FAliYOyMMBGhynPEw

Wow!!! Awesome bio. Thanks for stopping by my blog, and giving my post a like. I’m honored. Be blessed!!!
Just curious what led you to my blog? Also I’m glad I found yours through your “like” of my post. I know God connected me to your blog for a reason! I would love to buy your book when it’s finished. I hope some day I can write a book as well, but right now my ideas are too scattered and unorganized to brainstorm anything worthwhile. God bless you!
Sounds familiar!
Thank you for liking my blog. All the best for you in your writing and life!
Hello Ellie,
Thank you for taking the time to read my post including Andrew Solomon’s talk. I was quite moved when I watched it and thought others may be as well..I’m glad you enjoyed it. Hope your book is doing well. Krystyna from My Neighbour’s Nanny and My Neighbour’s Therapist.

Hi Ellie, Thanks for the like on ‘The Dance of Life’ thereby enabling me to discover yours. Truly inspirational – I shall be back!
Hi Ellie,
Thank you for reading my post on “Mindfulness” – which led me to yours. I feel that perhaps we are kindred spirits after reading your “About” section, especially your description, mission, and list of things you love. Your book title is compelling, and by the impression of your last post, “Were You the One?” – I’m certain your content will be as well. I look forward to reading it.
